Local Olympian, Richard Weinberger Swims to a Bronze Medal Win

It was a morning filled with immense pride, surreal moments and lots of cheering as 22 year old, local swimmer and first time Olympian, Richard Weinberger competed for a

bronze medal win.

His neighbourhood in South Surrey held an early morning block party to gather supporters to watch the event live at 4am.  Matrix owners and long time neighbours and friends, Likky and Sam Lavji, hosted the event and captured the morning in pictures that will last as amazing memories for a lifetime.

Prior to the big race, we posted with an exclusive interview with Richard’s parents on raising an Olympic athlete.  Weinberger’s parents shared some great stories about his early days in swimming and some pride filled tearful moments over the years as they raised an Olympian.

Congratulations to ALL Olympians!  Additional pictures on our facebook page!
